Why Israel should partner with Michigan.

While Michigan is the hub of the U.S. and global auto industries, it is forging into the new economy withAmbassador Bridge emphasis on the same competitive-edge technologies (life sciences, homeland security, alternative energy, etc.) in which Israel excels. Moreover, Michigan offers Israel such additional advantages as collaboration with world-class research institutions (the University of Michigan, Michigan State University and Wayne State University), an abundance of fresh water, advanced and precision manufacturing facilities, as well as access to world markets via the St. Lawrence Seaway and a major international airport.

Why Michigan should partner with Israel.

Weizmann InstituteIsrael has 3,000 high-tech companies centered on life sciences, homeland security, alternative energy, water technology and agro-technology to name but a few. Israel has more engineers and scientists per capita than any other country in the world. It has the third highest number of U.S. patents per capita as well. You couldn’t ask for a better global partner to do business with than Israel. That is why Israel’s Iscar Corporation is the first business Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway Inc. has invested in outside of the U.S.
